Meet Dr. Mitzi

Dr. Mitzi Wade grew up in the North Alabama area and received her undergraduate degree from Athens State University in 1997. She then completed her master’s degree from the University of North Alabama in Secondary Education. Contemplating a career change, she wanted to combine her love of children with her passion for healthcare. Her friend's sister, a dentist, encouraged her to explore the benefits dentistry offered patients. Dentistry appealed to her since she knew the joy of making children smile. With her own dental experiences from childhood in mind, Dr. Wade wanted to build an environment where children felt safe and comfortable.

Following four years of teaching, Dr. Wade attended Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry and earned her degree in 2007. Since then, she's focused on treating children and patients with special needs, and she specializes in helping families who rely on Alabama Medicaid.

“I desire to make each child’s experience a positive and encouraging one," Dr. Wade says. "I want to help them build good dental habits that will stay with them as adults.”Dr. Wade is married to her husband, Tony. They have three sons Kendall, AJ, and Ian Seth. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, and watching her children play sports.

She currently works primarily at Treehouse in Tuscumbia. She is fluent in 3 languages, including English, Hindi, and Gujurati. Treehouse Children’s Dentistry also serves our communities by holding special events at each of our locations each year and visiting local schools to educate children about the importance of proper dental care.
